During the study, a series of public meetings will be held to give you the opportunity to learn more about this study and to discuss your ideas with the study team.
Public Meeting #1: July 29, 2010 - COMPLETE
The first public workshop was held July 29th at Varina High School. The study team introduced the project to approximately 180 attendees and collected their input to understand citizen desires for the corridor. The workshop included two identical presentations by the team and several display boards showing key study elements and plans, including a brief summary of existing traffic conditions in the corridor.
Public Workshop #2: May 31, 2011 - COMPLETE
The second public workshop was held on May 31st at the VDOT Central Office auditorium. This workshop focused on an initial review of draft conceptual alternatives for multimodal transportation solutions on the Route 5 corridor. Approximately 83 citizens attended and 190 questionnaires were received to help the team to refine the conceptual alternatives presented at the workshop.
Public Workshop #3: September 29, 2011 - COMPLETE
The third and final public workshop was held on September 29th at the VDOT Central Office auditorium. This workshop focused on two draft conceptual alternatives for multimodal transportation solutions on the Route 5 corridor. Approximately 105 citizens attended and 365 questionnaires were received to help the team to refine the conceptual alternatives presented at the workshop.
